The Team
ASID California Orange County Chapter comes together to enrich professional relationships with all members while increasing membership and public awareness of the Interior Design field. If you’re a designer who’s seeing more interest from clients in the south and west, you’re not alone. Florida, Texas, Utah, and Idaho are some of the 13 states seeing double digit growth in their residential population from 2010 to 2020. Florida alone contains 12 of the 25 metro areas seeing the biggest growth over that time period. A more inclusive mindset is also foregrounded in workplace design, with companies seeking ways to make their offices more supportive of neurodivergent employees. The WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP) denotes expertise in the WELL Standard (WELL), a library of evidence-based building and organizational strategies that can improve the health and well-being of people everywhere.
WELL ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL
NCIDQ Certification is required for the practice of many types of interior design in regulated jurisdictions throughout North America. Certification enables designers to easily validate their knowledge, experience and skill to employers and clients alike. ASID represents more than 25,000 members including Practitioners, Architects, Emerging Professionals, Students, and Industry Partners. ASID is the largest and most influential interior design organization in the U.S. and is the voice of professionals practicing in all facets of design including commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality and retail, and more.
Research & Knowledge Management
Leading research demonstrates that the way our buildings are designed, constructed, and maintained has a profound impact on how we live. When we design our buildings, we define how we sleep, what we eat and how we feel throughout the day. ASID is dedicated to leading the conversation on integrating health and wellness in the built environment.
About the American Society of Interior Designers
Finally, we aim to expand markets for all members and provide and promote opportunities and incentives for active participation of our membership. ASID has a number of categories for designers at every stage of their career, including students of interior design. We also have membership and sponsorship opportunities for manufacturers and suppliers who provide products and services to the industry.
ASID Foundation

Our research team provides economic, sector, career stage and, of course, design data and research to the marketplace. Through the ASID Foundation, we provide over $100,000 in funding annually to various research and scholarship initiatives to help build the knowledge community for the interior design profession. Of the national society’s 20,000 practicing interior designers, 6,500 practice primarily in the commercial field with 4,000 practicing primarily as residential designers.
The Community
Interior designers can differentiate themselves and demonstrate their professionalism through certifications and credentials. ASID will provide leadership and commit time and resources to accomplish this objective while serving as a model to other organizations engaged in D+I endeavors. We value our governing documents – Bylaws and Policies – created to provide a governance framework that empowers our board, committee, chapter and staff teams in their day-to-day work. UCA Alumna, Keeley Dorrell, ASID, with ImageWorks Commercial Interiors, collaborated with the team on the furnishings for the facility. The Ovation award is granted to the best commercial project in the region.

The Colorado Chapter of ASID strives to be the definitive resource for professional education and knowledge sharing, advocacy of interior designers’ right-to-practice, and expansion of interior design markets. ASID’s national Industry Partners include more than 3,500 member firms and individual representatives, uniting the professional designer with manufacturers of design-related products and services. Fitting for a time when renovation is outpacing new-home construction and commercial buildings are being converted into apartments at a record pace, interior design in 2023 will be all about mastering mixed-use space.
ASID's Position Statement on Climate, Health, and Equity
Our first priority is right to practice – whether that be through interior design legislation or seal/stamp privileges at the municipal level. Our chapter covers a geographic area extending from San Luis Obispo in the north down to the Orange County line, and from the Pacific Ocean east to Palm Springs and the desert communities. With over 500 interior designers, 270 Industry Partners, and 200 student members, ASID Los Angeles is one of the largest ASID Chapters. We represent some of the most influential and trend-setting interior designers in the United States. As a chapter we strive to increase and enhance Interior Design practice skills through continuing professional education, and ensure designers’ right to practice through state and national advocacy. We also educate consumers on the value of hiring an Interior Design professional to protect their health, safety and welfare.
That common thread is woven throughout many of the report’s findings, but it’s far from the only insight that interior designers can extract.
